Viktor Ishaev: We Will Be Able to Build Such Vessels That Have Never Been Built in the Russian Far East Before
“The prospects for civil shipbuilding in the Russian Far East are related to the yard construction in Bolshoi Kamen, Primorsky Krai”, Viktor Ishayev, the Minister on Far East Development-Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District said as announced by his PR office.
“Nowadays there is no single dry dock in the Russian Far East. But soon it will have one in Bolshoi Kamen, Primorsky Krai. So we will be able to build such vessels that have never been built in the Russian Far East before. We will produce large-sized ice class vessels of more than 100 thousand ton displacement, drilling vessels, floating LNG plants for offshore development. Shipyard construction will cost approximately 150 billion roubles. And it is a big sum; however this project is a breakthrough in the economy of the region. The prospects for commercial shipbuilding in the Russian Far East are related to the yard construction in Bolshoi Kamen”, Viktor Ishayev said.
Also he added that by 2019 Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex would be ready to build tankers with a displacement of up to 350 thousand tons, LNG carriers, other ice class vessels and offshore oil platforms.
