Valentina Matvienko Visits Amur Ship Repair Yard
Valentina Matvienko, the Chairperson of the Russian Federation Council, visited Komsomolsk-on-Amur during her trip to the Russian Far East. One of the longest stops during her working trip was at the core regional company JSC Amur Ship Repair Yard.
The Chairperson of the Upper Chamber was accompanied by Vyacheslav Shport, the Khabarovsk Krai Governor, Viktor Ozerov, the Chairperson of the Council of the Federation Committee on Defense and Security, and Vladimir Mikhalev, the head of Komsomolsk-on-Amur. Valentina Matvienko went to the covered shipways where Andrey Basargin, the Chief Operating Officer for the company, spoke about the construction progress made on the Perfect Corvette.
Further the Chairperson of the Russian Federation Council met with the yard’s employees. There she told that all the companies she had visited could become the driving force behind the innovative growth in the economy, and the companies’ progress would get close attention.
“We will not solve the economic issues without retaining the population, with no help to the people living here, and without bringing some people from the central part of the country over here.”
Valentina Matvienko told that an extensive plan on the Russian Far East development through 2025 (potentially to 2050) under preparation at the moment would feature a spectrum of solutions to this issue—the introduction of specific tax regimes and special economic zones—and address the issue of raising salaries and housing improvements.
